the pic is just a funny. i didn't think i'd havde the room.. but i have a Med bag, and all my turn out gear in the back :)

well i got the Green light from the RCMP and ICBC. I can now use my mustang as a first responder vehilce:chacha: we've been having some issues with BC ambulance out here, and decided that using me as an EMT/fire rescue would be better. so a while back my chief applied for a few of us to use our POV's for transport (the Cheif is buying a new truck specificaly, Deputy chief is converting his, our officer is also, and same as myself)

List of what is ordered:

Whelen TIR3 lights for in grill (RED)
Signal Mini Phantoms (2x in rear top corners 1x mounted on rearview mirror for front)
and mini strobes in my fronts, and rears

-PLOTNIK- 04-28-2009 02:47 PM

can you get any pic of the front of the car with the lights on?

Crafty 04-28-2009 03:31 PM

yea will do. I have to take the car to Kamloops to get everything installed, so i need to find time off work to go drive up, and get it installed.. so it might still be a few weeks away but as soon as it's all up i'll get video for everyone to enjoy :) i think it will be cool to have for shows and the west meet too

-PLOTNIK- 04-28-2009 07:10 PM

2k6s197 04-29-2009 03:41 PM

In kitchener, ( i think it's kitchener), the undercover cops now look like taxis!!! :|

so I wouldn't be surprised to see undercover cops in sports cars...

Ottawa has a Civic SI as one of their police cars...

-PLOTNIK- 04-29-2009 04:47 PM

the police here have so many random cars for undercover cop cars it hard to follow them, I just saw a Pontiac Montana van and a Chevy Impala as police cars, its f**kin pissing me off!

The RCMP here have a brown F150 Supercrew longbox and a 3/4 ton 2500HD GMC that are unmarked. I'm not sure who it belongs to but I've seen a Silver Mustang GT with cars pulled over on the QEII as well. I think it might belong to the Alberta Highway Sheriff's. Seems like they'll use anything these days.

I use the mustang for first responder to... I usually just make it to the hall and hop in the trucks to get to the fire... especially during grass season. Can be pretty rough and I won't put my car through that.

dohp 04-30-2009 08:29 AM

nice, maybe you can get them to help pay for a v8 in the future, just to get there 5 seconds faster haha

Blown03GT 04-30-2009 08:37 AM

that's sweet

I think a lot of departments use teh newer stangs because they're so popular:rolleyes: and nobody expects it.. when you say police car most people think stuff like crown vic, impala, and charger:chacha:

lol for actual structure fires/ wild fires I always respond to the hall.. it's mainly for MVA's along HWY3. luckily my employer lets me go to calls and i've got good coverage of the district.

lol no worries. I'm either first or second one on scene. sometimes the RCMP get to the MVA's faster...

aCiD 05-26-2009 10:11 AM

2tone 07-15-2009 05:46 PM

Did you get the lights installed?

Crafty 07-16-2009 01:16 AM

nothing is fixed in but i have managed to get the strobes wired up, headlight/taillight flashers on and running, and the rear amber light bar wired.. still have to find the time out of work to go to kamloops to do everything else :(

Daves 07-18-2009 08:29 PM

That is way cool. Can you throw suspension and tire upgrades on the list to? Be safe dude.

I'm working on an all around setup.. still looking to fix the 8.8" IRS i have sitting at my parents place(bent axel tube), already have steeda comp springs in, getting new struts, C/C plates real quick (prob next mod) then after that Cobra brakes then i still have to decide on go fast goodies lol

EDIT: as for tires (forgot to post that part) i'm going with the same thing up front (falken ziex 245/40/17) and looking around for rears but will for sure go with a 275 width this time round. as for when.. prob next spring.. these ones are good for the rest of the year.

Crafty 07-20-2009 12:32 PM

change of plans.. just ordered a steeda adjustable clutch cable lastnight. and went out to admire the car sitting there and figured i'd look over the tires.. my rear's are getting down.. so... new tires are on the way at the end of the month. anyone have any preferences?
