They're Never Too Young To Start

Just couldn't resist posting this pic. My 9 yr old son and I woke up early Sat. morning, and decided to go for a cruise in the Stang. Then he pointed out to me that the car had a little dust on her, and suggested we go to the car wash, which we did. When we got back home, I was wiping the car down, and noticed him grabbing a rag, and climbing under the back of the car to wipe down the tailpipes. I just had to grab the camera and capture this special Father/Son moment. :chacha:

Nice. No kids but if my wife and I could have had some/any that's what mine would be doing:tup

joez ryde 05-19-2009 11:59 AM

That is priceless! To most of us men who understand. Good 1.

That is cool!!I've been getting my daughter out since she could hold a sponge with her own two hands to help wash the stang, now she is 7.It's awesome to watch them with cars. They learn a whole new respect for cars.

i am only 19 and i respect your son....thanks for posting man....kinda reminds me of myself :)

In a few "Short" years he will be holding his hand out a saying "Gimme the keys". Enjoy the moment... It doesn't seem to last long enough...

haha, that is an awesome shot. What would make it better is if you had the kids & wife cleaning it while you are captured in the shot drinking a Canadian.

Yeah funny you say that....my oldest son is 16, and asks for the keys on a regular basis.....The only time he touchs the keys, is when I'm in the passenger seat.(much to his disappointment.)

That is an awesome picture I had a really good laugh!
I will respect your son, cause now I knows.. he respects cars and wont be that little pest throwing rocks and eggs at moving traffic!
Understanding the value of nice vehicles! your son will be telling his friends not to key cars, throw eggs at them cause he now knows!

Thats a great shot good for him :tup

Just going through some of my old posts, and when I saw this, I had to show my boy to see what his reaction would be. He got the proudest look on his face, and I can assure you, so did I. This has to be my favorite posting. As some of you know, my oldest son, Tyler, is a member here, and he owns a 2000 Stang, so when I asked my youngest what Mustang he would like to own when comes of age, I expected him to say a newer Gt or shelby, but to my surprise he said a 1970 Boss 302......Well there comes that proud look on my face again!

*On a side note, I miss that 95 GTS, and it's actually for sale right now for $6000, so if I can swing it, there be a re-addition to the family:tup

SNAKEBITE 09-13-2011 06:04 PM

the tike has good taste, I would tell him to aim for the 429 lol

ChadStang 09-13-2011 09:56 PM

I don't know how I missed this post the first time around but what a great pic. With a work ethic like that I would think you could get him some shoes though. lol

Yeah too funny, but if the kid had it his way, he would never wear shoes, atleast in the summer anyway. My oldest wasn't real interested in cars until he was about 13 years old, but my youngest has been a fan of American Muscle cars since he was real young. Weds are cruise nights here in Lloyd during the summer, and 90% of the time, he's in the passenger seat of the Mistress, the other 10% his Mom's in the passenger seat, and he gets stuck in the back. I think what impresses me the most, is when he has a freind along, and he's explaing to his friend what each car is:tup

Great shot and better story. Like father, like son. You'll be telling this story for many years.
Good for you for getting the shot.

SNAKEBITE 09-15-2011 04:50 PM

I suppose with my ailing well everything it would be nice to have a youngin or two so that I could sit back and relax tehehehe. If my ex-fiance had not gone to the hospital (first year university) for a procedure I would most likely have a 25 year old, guy/girl not sure and it does not matter at this point.

DublDee 09-16-2011 08:17 AM

Yeah you really know that they have the bug too, when they're willing to help with waxing, cleaning, etc., because it is a tough job some times! I think the one thing my boy has certainly learned from me, is that if the job is worth doing, it's worth doing right...the first time, and I'm sure when it comes to cars, he's gonna be a little perfectionist, and likely pass the bug down too:tup

SNAKEBITE 09-16-2011 03:59 PM

You may be blamed if he ends up like me tehehehe
