Dealer asking $99,000 for 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca pre-order on eBay
The 2012 Mustang Boss 302 won’t hit showrooms until at least Spring of next year, but dealerships are already finding takers for their allotment of cars. As many expected, dealers are trying to charge an exorbitant amount of money for the first cars available, as evidenced by an eBay bid put up by Sarasota Ford in Florida. The buy-it-now price for a Boss 302 with the Laguna Seca Package, which carries an msrp of $47,990, is an astounding $99,000. Interestingly, the auction states that just 250 Laguna Seca models will be built, which confirms our earlier report of 500 being built over a two year period.
The auction description is as follows: This auction is for the pre-order of a 2012 Laguna Seca Ford Mustang. This order is being offered by Sarasota Ford of Sarasota, Florida. We have received one allocation for the 2nd quarter of 2011 and the vehicle will be built somewhere between April and June and it will be at our dealership between May and July. There will only be 250 of these Mustangs built total and we will have one of the only ones in the state of Florida. You are bidding on the vehicle that will be ordered. There will be a deposit required and you may build the vehicle to your exact specifications. [Source: eBay] |
All i need to say is that some will never learn.Did the economy correct itself,am i missing something! :?

Go back to the commentary in the thread when the news on this car broke - same old as when the GT500 came out. I hope they choke on it - what a joke if you pay double for a car.

Marketing scheme, that's all it is.

People wanted the Boss 302 to came back, well here you go. Good luck to those that "Have too have it",and spend loads of cash on it.:suicide: |
A few years I was a had to have it guy, no more. I will let someone else help with Ford's bottom line
|
I think it only helps the dealers bottom line at $99k
I would buy an original Boss 302 for that kind of money have change to spare. |
I would have to agree.Pkus that would be way more change to spare.LOL!
But we do know what will happen to the value of the original Boss's.They will only go up from her on now!! |
Priced to the moon as they are half way there already
|
Checked with a dealer in Alberta and they are asking $5K over MSRP. So a full load Boss is $57+....
Problem is you can't order many options - Seats, Torsen axle, cover/floor mats, yellow paint are it. You can't even order higher end sound, block heater(?), HIDs etc. Think I'll look for a used GT500, for less money, as there seems to be no shortage of them :) Maybe a new GT and add a SC. |
^^^welcome and not a bad choice

There are only 25 Laguna's Coming to Canada, and 250 Boss' - MSRP on the Laguna I have on order is 58,979 Including Freight - Our dealership is only asking for 20,000 over list... Any takers? It is due to arrive here in June... Helps off set the interest for us buying so many Shelbys, and storing them this past winter when they arrive in September. If you would like a deal on a high performance car - buy a Shelby GT500 - I have 15 availabe and sell at invoice to Members... If you want a Rare collector car that is a street legal race car - Buy the Laguna.
