Ford has announced it will be investing $155 million in its Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1. The investment will revamp the plant to produce the 3.7L V6 earmarked for the 2011 Ford Mustang, creating an additional 60 jobs along the way.

The investment will allow the Cleveland plant to produce Ford’s next-generation 3.7-liter DOHC Ti-VCT V6. The new six-pot will develop 305 horsepower under the hood of the 2011 Mustang and is expected to return a class-leading 30mpg.

“Ford is absolutely committed to delivering class-leading fuel efficiency with every new vehicle we introduce, and this investment in Cleveland provides further proof,” said Bill Russo, director of manufacturing for Ford’s powertrain operations.

Including the Cleveland investment, has now spent $1.8 billion on North American facility upgrades to support its 2011 model year vehicles. In all, the initiative has created 1,260 new jobs.

Very good news. Too bad the engine isn't being build at the Essex Engine Plant in Windsor though.

Windsor gets the 8 so good for Cleveland. If anyone thinks Windsor is bad drive down that way:suicide:
