It's one thing to share a platform with Land Rover, it's another thing to completely steal their image.

After thinking about it again, I think the new engine should definitely have the name BOSS on it somewhere. The reason is of course is the same reason Chrysler is using the name "HEMI".......name recognition. I think the return of the cammer would be awesome (basically, a hemi-headed mod-motor) but the name recognition isn't there. So, if they WERE to introduce a new engine, the engine with the most recognition in Ford's old lineup was definitely the BOSS 429/BOSS 302 engines (with the BOSS 351 thrown in there somewhere, but not as well known).
I think from a marketing standpoint, to pit a new "BOSS" engine up against the new "HEMI" engine would make sense......... Of course I'm not suggesting an actual re-creation of the BOSS 429, that wouldn't make a lot of sense, but maybe a cammer-esque mod motor branded as a BOSS (its not like the "HEMI" is a real hemispherically headed engine anyways) with the performance to match would probably be the best choice. |
agreed.......... finally we agree overkill . lol .

New Hemi Charger
My Pop's just picked up a new Hemi Chgarger and its pretty sweet. His first choice was a new mustang but my mom wasn't impressed with it. She is old and wanted a 4 door haha. That and the new mustang ride wasn't as nice.
I'm looking forward to the new challenger coming out next year. It looks unreal. |
