Looking for a really unique Mustang for your car collection? Profiles in History is planning on selling one of two driveable "Hero" K.I.T.T Ford Mustangs from the 2008 remake of the TV series Knight Rider. The car which was driven by Justin Bruening playing Michael Knight is based on a 2008 Mustang V6. Although many thought the cars used on the series were Shelby GT500KRs, the producers actually chose to use the much cheaper Mustang V6 wearing GT500KR parts. The car has been extensively modified with Shelby GT500 KR components including Brembo performance front brakes, 20" forged SVT wheels, GT 500KR seats, KR front bumper assembly, hood with vents, front and rear spoilers and KR rear bumper cover, HID headlamps, black KR stripe kit, carbon fiber side mirror covers and the appropriate badging. Other modifications include KITT's signature red sweeping scanner lights mounted at the front of the hood, Momo steering wheel and tinted windows. The vehicle was built by Cinema Vehicle Services and includes a certificate of authenticity.
The Knight Rider Mustang will be sold during Profiles in History's "Auction 42" at the Globe Theatre in Universal Studios on November 6th with proceeds going to benefit the VARIETY Childrens Charity. It has an estimated value of $25,000 to $35,000.
