For me honestly I don't think the Mustang came back to where it should be until the 03/04 Mach 1 and Cobra. Then in 05' they really got it right.

To be honest, i couldn't stand any mustang after the '69 model, but the '85 GT did spark something with me as a kid though. Loved how it had the blacked out 4 eyes, and blacked out center stripe on the hood, and the race like interior.
But as i grew up, i had no interest in mustangs at all, let alone own one, yet own two. I turned over when my baby brother bought himself a used '85 GT back in '96, took me for a ride one night, and that is all it took. I knew i was gonna own that very car, and i did,. Then after seeing the '01 Bullitt, i thought that Ford found that perfect balance of this retro thing going on, but yet still modern with the hard edgy modern lines without going over board. |
I think My favourite Mustang will always be a toss up between the 65 GT350, and the '70 Mach I. I did like pretty much all of them from the first one to the '71-'72 Mach I, and then again once the Fox bodies came out.

If I could pick any classic Stang other than a Boss 429 it would be a 69 Mach 1 with a 390.

With '70 probably being my favourite year, I would have to go with the 1970 Mach I "Twister Special" with 428CJ. That's one mean, rare machine!

^ that's one awesome machine.

Yeah and with only 96 made, they are pretty rare. Unfortunately they were made exclusively for the Kansas City Ford District dealers, so I'm pretty sure I won't be finding one of those anytime soon.

We had one show up in a trailer last summer at a cruise in
