4-Door Mustang Is Coming, Ford Allegedly Reveals to Dealers
#3
Seems odd for a company that just announced it was going to stop making cars, with the exception of the Mustang of course. These rumours surface every couple of years, just like the rumour there would be a Raptor/Bronco model.
I'm with Chad though, why not a four door sedan version, personally, I'm waiting for the 475hp Bullitt station wagon model. lol

I've been actively avoiding this thread...trying to avoid writing the rant to end all rants. Every time I think about it, it makes me so angry I end up pacing around the room mumbling to myself about "the death of the coupe"...
Even the dog is not impressed.

Every once and awhile a leak comes out of a company as a method of guageing public reaction. Previous ones from Ford such as the Probe replaceing the Mustang enraged Mustang owners, hence it never happened. More recently the release of so called pirated photos from the recent Ford dealers meeting in Las Vegas showed photos of the new Shelby 500. I suspect both these maybe another "lets guage the market" as part of Fords long term plan to get ut of the NorthAmerican car market to see if the public would accept a family sedan under the Mustang brand name.
Myself I don't beleive Ford Executives or shareholders would ever give up the Mustang coupe however there is tremendious corporate pressures these day by the environmentalists to stop bank rolling companies such as the big three.
Just guessing?

There are rumors that it could be powered by a turbo v8. Imagine if it was also offered with the 6spd; that would be one badass family sedan!
It shouldn't be branded as a Mustang though. That just seems sacrilegious to me.

I can tell you guys that I attended the dealer meetings in Vegas and there was no talk of a Mustang sedan. They did show us pics of the electric “Mustang inspired” suv though. It was very cool and did definitely have a few Mustang touches. They did not show us Canadian dealers the GT500 though, something due to the fact that it’s only available to the SVT dealers in Canada. I can tell you that the pics of the car floating around were definitely from the meeting stage though so I believe them to be legit. Maybe they chose to withhold the info on the 4 door Stang from the Canadian’s for some reason I guess?
