That is sweet, and what a great color to use for the release. :D

650hp and 600ld/ft is just insane. I'll take 2.

These numbers are insane these days. But you got to do what you got to do to keep on top of the compition!

2013 Ford Shelby GT500 delivers 650 HP and 322 km/h straight from the factory
650 horsepower. 600 pound-feet of torque. 320-plus kilometres per hour. With specs like these, you don't need long-form introductions. This is the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500, and all we can say is, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has officially been put on notice. 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 engineThe heart of the new Ford stunner is a 5.8-litre, aluminum-block V8, complete with a larger, more efficient supercharger. Nearly the entire powertrain has been upgraded for 2013, including a new cross-drilled block and heads, updated camshaft profiles, a carbon fibre driveshaft and upgraded clutch, transmission and axle. The cooling system has also been upgraded, and the new six-speed manual transmission now has a final drive ratio of 3.31-to-1 – optimized to handle the massive amounts of torque put down by the new engine. Further enhancements can be had in the GT500 Performance Pack, which incorporates SVT-designed Blistein electronic adjustable dampers with 'normal' and 'sport' modes and a Torsen limited-slip differential. What's more, the Track Package adds an external engine oil cooler, rear differential cooler and transmission cooler. Like the current GT500, 19-inch wheels are standard up front (20-inch rollers are found out back) and a Brembo braking system keeps everything in check when its time to control all that force. The whole package weighs in at just 1,746 kilograms (3,850 pounds) – 122 kilos (270 pounds) less than the Camaro ZL1. Visually, not too much has changed from the current GT500, save some minor aerodynamic tweaks like an ever-so-slightly revised front fascia with new air splitters, as well as a minimally tweaked rear end. Inside, it's the same levels of comfort and refinement that you'll find in the rest of the Mustang lineup, albeit with new Recaro front buckets https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1321534630 |
It weighs 270lbs less than a Camaro ZL1 and its dinky little 550hp. Game, Set, Match goes to the the Shelby.

Just seen a commercial for the ZL1 talking about its ingenuity and how much effort went in to it. Ford should make a commercial for the GT500 and buy the commercial time right after the ZL1 commercial.

Might be an idea. Maybe look at a white one and you won't have to clean quite so much.

For Mustang fans, you’re welcome. Clearly the Camaro has encouraged Ford to throw everything they can at us. The days of “no replacement for displacement,” are over, |
^ my thoughts exactly

I would take the new 6.4 Dodge before the Camaro

Release
Ahh Chad stang...grasshopper your facts are flawed.."could whoop on any challenger"....yes, perhaps your stock Challenger version, not "CHEKM8"...the mods would be the difference. There have been a few GT500's around here that have admitted a little more respect for this Challenger after a run.
Anyway, with all do respect to the GT 500, CHEKM8 is in a class by itself thanks to the aftermarket scene. Cheers:D |
I think that we are a tad older on this site so you know how this will go, spend the money wisely and you have a car that's a demon. That would go for the SRT8 and the GT500 so it's a win win no matter how you slice the apple lol
|
Release
Very True..you hit the nail on the head. I spent way to much on the SRT but ..there is always a but..CHEKM8 is wicked fast and that's what I wanted...
I don't want to hijack this thread so I will continue some info I just heard about under performance. Dave:D |
^^^We are real easy going here
