Carroll Shelby's latest Ford Mustang marvel, the Shelby GT350, revealed at Barrett-Jackson

On the 45th anniversary of the original Shelby GT350, Carroll Shelby is revealing the latest version of the hopped-up Ford Mustang tonight at the opening gala of the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Shelby added a new rear look to create the GT350 from a 2011 Mustang GT
The new GT350 is a supercharged 2011 Ford Mustang GT that will go on sale in the spring with a combined pricetag -- both for the car then Shelby American's modifications -- at more than $60,000. Shelby American says more than 100 devotees have already placed orders.

Shelby, 87, says the new GT350 has "got some of the old and some of the new:"

The supercharging should push the horsepower of Ford's new 5-liter engine past 500, up from 412 of stock, and it has the look of the original -- white with blue stripes. He says he loves the look of the front and rear ends, as well as the braking and handling.

To his regret, he can't behind the wheel and put the car through hot paces anymore. "I'm three-quarters blind now and I don't drive fast anymore," said the automotive legend. Ford will continue to make its licensed Shelby GT500 with the 5.4-liter V-8, but the Shelby GT350 should be more nimble and plenty fast on the track.

Back end of the car looks like ass!!!!

Go figure - another overpriced specialty car from Shelby for status seeking, attention hungry buyers.

Setting aside the name-whoring price, I don't mind the look actually - seems true to the styling cues of the original, and the ass end is actually an improvement over the GT. Never did like the way the tail lights alternated the red and white lenses, but the dual exhaust dumps together? That looks like ass.

omg .... I LOVE it!

I hate to say it but I would have to agree with Apoco!!! j/jokes

I don't mind the looks but...$34000 + the price of a GT. Why not get all the goodies from ford like Shelby did and do up your own GT350. I am sure you will come well under what he and ford are asking. I don't much care for the rear of the car either. Not a big fan of centre exhaust and the reverse lights look out of place. Not much done to the interior as well. Oh, and you would think that Shelby could manufacture a better looking gauge pod than that aftermarket fugly one he bolted in for the price.

Hmmm...would have to see one in person.

Me to i will agree. All this collector/specialty car stuff is really getting old. When are we going to see a affordable car for the "REAL" car guy!:bleh:
But i do like what i see :tup, minus the center exhaust exit.
I also agree on the gauge pod!My thoughts were exact when i first saw the interior pic. They could've used,or made something like Speed of Sounds gauge pillar which is made with stock a pillars to keep it factory clean.....like this......

I like everything but the exhaust. It just doesn't look right.
