ok, it's officially up for grabs. as much as i don't want to sell it, finances are dictating otherwise. my 86 motor is up for sale, complete from intake to throttle body. $300 if you want my ported upper add $25, if you want the engine stand add $50, want a set of E7 heads add $50, also have a bunch of parts to help you get started....
the most intimidating thing about this motor is the 300,000kms on the odometer. it may have been rebuilt, it might not have. i have no clue. what i do know is that it pulled 20inches of vacuum at idle, a compression test showed all of the cylinders within 2psi last summer before i pulled it. it has better oil pressure than 5.0s around here with less than a 100,000kms. and it went 13.2 @ 102 the way she sits on the stand.
if you don't know much about 86s there are a couple small differences from the 87+ motors. the upper intake has 2mm smaller runners, the throttlebody is smaller, it had E6 heads and flat top pistons (forged of course). i'd be selling it with either an 89H.0. upper or optional ported 90 upper, a stock 89 TB, and i'd recomend picking up the low mile 89 E7 heads as the E6s are about the only thing on the 86 that is getting a little tired.
