$ 1.22 a liter !!!!!
Crazy as it sound, it's what I paid today per liter of Shell 91 octane... I guess I was not aware they were adding fine diamond particle dust to the mix LOL
Im actually thinking of switching to the lesser 87 shell grade till gas prices come back down to a manageable price. I looked this up in the owners manual and it says this grade fuel can be safely used in the 5.0 What are you guys filling up with?Im curious what the general consensus is. Anyone here using Sunoco 94 and if so, are you finding any benefits? Sunoco 94 was listing at $1.27/liter in the GTA... that's just gas pump rape!:banghead: |
if the owners manual says 87, and if you don't have any mods requireing a higher grade fuel, why pay more???
|
It's $0.999 here for 91. $0.899 for 87. I've driven with both in the Stang and there seems to be no difference. And the higher grade fuel make my F150 run like ass.

I have to run 91+ but with the limited driving I do I does not hurt. Damn that price is high no doubt

if you can get away with a lower grade run it. You should be able to hear any detination, although, unless your foot to the floor to redline, theres no need in most case's
If you have mods (intake, exhaust, etc) then you may need the higher octane. Or you may find you can do one tank 91, one tank 87, and keep switching it up. Alot of times you can get away with doing that. My moms volvo were able to do 2 tanks 87 and then 1 tank 91. (she fills when she gets to 1/4 tank) |
I switch between 89 (recommended) and 87 (ok) with my Hemi and so far so good. With a s/c I use 91 cause the owners manual says that's what it needs, otherwise

I always run 91 in the F-150,and the GT is tuned to 94,but that may change if this keeps up.
It's 108.3 here in London for the cheapest grade right now.:banghead: I thought we were trying to help the economy pic back up.Maybe that was just a dream?!!!! |
