07 GT500 Wheels
I'm thinking about wheels and tires for my GT500. I really like the Supersnake wheels but they are just way out of my price range. I'd like a 19" or 20" and don't want to go narrower than my 9.5" factory wheels. 10-10.5" rear would be great. Anyone have any suggestions? I like black wheels but my car is red w/ white stripes so I don't know if that would look weird. Any input would be appreciated.

Ever think of the Shelby Razor rims?

They did make the Razor in an 18" as well, but they don't clear the GT-500 brakes.
What about the 2010 GT-500 vert 18" wheels that are in the FRPP catalogue? Same size as your originals, and a great price. cheers Ed N. |

Your options aren't as wide due to you needing front wheels that can clear the brembo's.
I think a staggered set of American Racing Torque Thrusts, Foose Nitrous, Foose Nitrous II or even an FRPP GT500 wheel like you have now but in black would be cool. I'd be very careful and go with a good brand. A lot of what's out there today are very cheaply made and the finish may not hold up too long. I bought many a set of wheels over the years for my mustangs and I've seen it all and have found that you get what you pay for with wheels as in most other things in life. Why do you want to go up in size to a 20"? Just curious. |

I'm not crazy about the Razors. Maybe in black they would be ok but I hate to go narrower than what I already have.

I am happy with my 18's and don't think anything bigger than 18's belong on Ponies. My thoughts not yours of coarse

What about the new FRPP version of the 2011 GT-500 Track Pack wheels? The OEM wheels are 19" front, 20" rear, but FRPP has them as 19x9" and 19x10" ...

hell even painting the stock wheels gloss black changes the look drastically... and with a good dose of clear coat rims clean up SOOOO EASY |

I saw a GT500 convertible with a set of 20" chrome razors on it at a car show and they really looked good. The dude got lots of compliments on the wheels while I was there looking at the car.
They are 20X9 Razors with a 24mm offset. He put 235/35/20 on the front and 285/30/20 on the rear. Tires are Nitto 555's. I know you said you really weren't going for the razors but this'll at least show you your tires size options and fitment on a 9 inch wheel with a 24mm offset. Looks good to me but black looks good too. |
^^^ God damn those look good.

I came across this car last night online and because it is the same colour as yours figured I'd post up a couple of shots for you.

I have seen a set of these on a mustang and they are one of the nicest 20's for the mustang imo.
They are staggered as well so you get the bigger tire out back. http://cgi.ebay.ca/20-9-10-Ford-Must...item2c580c4ebe |

Those look pretty good and aren't a bad price. I just can't seem to find any pics of them on a GT500. I will put some thought into those for sure.
