i just did a quick search on the net, and came up with a 2.5"...
i found it looking for adapter kits for a cat back system .... here this is where i got the idea from... CLICK ME scroll down to item discription. |
Fairly sure it's not 2.5", those are just adapters to fit a 2.5" catback. The Cobra/GT exhaust isn't even 2.5... it's 2.25" at points, 2" others on the crap flowtubes...

ok, someone else must know for sure... |
Thanks both white snake and flynnt. I'm pretty sure it's 2.25" because i also did a random web search for factory '96 mustang pipes and seen mostly 2.5" cobra pipes. Because i know (accordiing to my knowledge) that the cobra pipes are a bit lager, i figured the 3.8 v6 pipes would be smaller in size. :tup

A V6 has a 2.25 exhaust. The easiest way to upgrade is to use the pacesetter dual conversion kit. There are also V6 dual catted h-pipes available as well.
In my case I put on a 2003 GT takeoff after installing the pacesetter h pipe. Worked out great on my 97 Pics Ron |
i may be retarded, but i can't find pics of the exhaust on your site there ron... just interested to see what it looks like, i would like duals and think i can get 02 gt exhaust for cheap, just wondering what it looks like
