Can I lift the driver's seat a bit?

Your car is an S197 Mustang, correct? Does it have power seats? If so, there should be a fair bit of height adjustment there as is. My '07 has power on the driver's seat only, and there is a fair bit of height difference between it and the passenger seat. If your car doesn't have power seats, you can probably add the seat tracks and switch from one that is so equipped. If you don't have power seats, let me know, and I'll look into what you need to do the swap.

For the passenger side, adding power adjustable seat tracks should net you some added height. You'll need the tracks, the switch (with harness), and the trim piece that holds the switch on the side of the seat. IIRC there should be a plug with power already under the seat...it should be plug-n-play. For the driver's side, you should be able to get some spacers made up for between the seat track and the seat itself, along with some longer bolts. With the proper measurements, any machine shop should be able to make these up pretty easily out of aluminum or steel. I'm not sure what the end result will look like, or how safe it will be in an accident, but it will get you the raise you are looking for.
