275/60/15 on 86
hey guys i have a set or cragar 15x9 rims for the rear and the tire is a 275/60/15. i was wondering if they woukld fit. they have a 4.5" backspacing. i will prolly have to roll the fender and there are no quads on this car. so let me know all.
thanks nik

They should fit, but yes, the fenders will likely need to be rolled. Best thing to do is a trial fit and check the clearance, they may also be too close to the tailpipes and e-brake cables. When you do the trial fit, keep in mind that the rearend will move 1/2" or so on hard cornering, so make sure you have a little room for movement.
the thing is that they are 5 lug from a older chrysler. i have to switch to 5 lug, but my car is a project car and wont be ready till next year. so i will be worrying about the engine first. or i would have set them under there and worked with the fit. but i cant
In that case, it depends what axles you'll be using, the Ford Racing ones are stock fox length, but if you do a swap for a Lincoln MK7 or newer Stang rearend, rolling the fenders may not be enough. I'd look for some different wheels which are designed to fit a Mustang unless you really love them.
They're probably 8", not 9" ... you have to measure between the bead mounting area, not across the entire width.
4-1/2" is not enough backspacing, you'll need 5 to 5-1/2" on a Fox car to keep them from hanging out the fenders. With shorter tires, it wouldn't matter so much, but with 275/60, there will likely be interference unless the rear of the car gets raised a bit.
cheers
