4.10 install

Anyone got any idea how many hours it takes to install 4.10s on a 2007 mustang gt. I was just quoted 6 hrs by my local ford dealer. Is this fair, thx

My guess is the flat rate would be 5-6 hours so its probably right.

Honestly sounds like a rip off to me, but what do I know. I was charged by a transmission shop 7 hours for 31 spline axles, 31 spline differential, 4.10 gears and a complete bearing/rear end rebuild kit and oil etc. Was about 650 bucks for Everything. I had the parts. :D

A gear swap is really the same amount of labor as an overhaul. Axles come out and everything comes apart. Personally when I do a gear swap I replace the bearings at the same time anyway since I'm already in there.

I paid $1400.00 for a 8.8 Ten axles, Ford racing carrier, carbon clutches, longer bolts, 4.10 Ford racing gears assembled ready to go. My axles were slight more expensive because I have a SN95 length axles in my car.
