88 to 85 mustang swap

newby mustang stew here. Installed 88 5.o auto c/w wiring harness into 85 conv (was 6 cyl.) can i install 88 dash including speedo cluster for wiring hook up.thanks for any help.

Welcome aboard. Yes you can , don't quote me on it,... but i believe you will need to swap the dash harness too, and all the other under the dash stuff to go with the Heater controls aswell.

85 cluster does not work with 88 wiring .88 cluster does not fit over steering column.center of 85 has c formed to fit over column 88 is rectangular

He plans to install the newer dash, and cluster.

Thanks for the confirmation on the harness adapting.
