ABS Sensors
Good day all. Just purchased a 2003 Cobra SVT (45K miles). I have an ABS dashboard light on and the traction as well. I will assume these go hand in hand somehow. Would anyone happen to know the process I should go through to snuff these lights out?
Thanks. |
No expert, but replace the sensors?? Welcome, those Termi's are monsters.

ABS Sensors
Thanks Mr. Pony!! Much appreciated!! I would suspect as much, but I think it maybe a single sensor, how would one figure which of them is the issue?

AP for short, theres smarter guys than me on here, which isn't too difficult some days, maybe start with a physical inspection of the condition of the sensors, check connections, look for corrosion....start simple and work from there.

ABS Sensors
Thanks again AP. I also did a little research and have also found out that there may be some corrosion on the sensing wheel which rotates along the face of the sensor.

An easy way to find out is to take the wheels off, the brakes rotors off, and clean up those sensor rings if they are corroted.

Thanks Bud. Is there a test that can be actually performed on the sensor itself,ie- a continuity check with a DVOM?

Me being the green horn here, now that I have some connections, I also have a concern with the openness to potential damage to the radiator(s). Is there some kind of screen that can be installed to protect these from road hazards. In Newfieland they aren't called pebbles...they're called ROCKS and big ones at that.LOL
