AC dead - Evaporator issue

Hi, new member here!
I bought my 2007 Mustang last year, and everything works great.. except I was disappointed when the AC died last week. I took it in yesterday to have it looked at and the issue was the evaporator (and lines) need to be replaced. I understand this is a known issue so I am assuming others have dealt with it. The quote to fix it came back very high (from my normal mechanic). I got a second quote at the dealer and they said the lines are discontinued, they can't find any and said a car that old would likely have more issues, so the bill is likely to run up even higher as they go (it is a 2007, but never saw snow, and only has 71,000km on her). So I guess I'm just wondering how others deal with this, can I find cheaper parts online somewhere, where/how do I look (can I even find lines if the dealer can not?). I am not mechanically inclined, so doing the work myself is out of the question. I can pay the high bill, I just wanted to see if there was another option I hadn't thought about (busy mom, lots to pay for, including an expensive teen! haha).
Thanks!
