Adding fog lights to 1995 'stang

I would like to add fog lights to my Mustang. I have been told that 1994 and 1995 Mustangs are pre wired and all you need to do is add the light assemblies, hook up the wires and you are in business. This seems too good to be true. There is a switch on the consul next to the switch for the top,the info I read says its ready to go. 1994 and 1995 Stangs were prewired ..my question is is this info accurate,is there power to this switch and all I need are the light assemblies ??

Correct, they are pre wired already. One harness to make their lives easier in the factory LOL!

OK, I am mistaken, there is no switch already mounted, just a coin holder which pops out and leaves a "hole" for the switch. I need to find a switch for this set up and I'll pick up a set of fog lights when I am in Florida. Are there sources here? I checked Carquest and their switch is $81. I might find one at an auto wreckers for less.

If you're headed south anyway its probably cheaper down there.

Plus you probably won't have to pay to have it shipped, and if you do, it will likely be next to nothing. Maybe get those underhood decals too.

The job is now complete. I pulled the centre consol storage bin, found the wireing with the plug installed for the switch, I removed the coin holder, plugged the switch in and mounted it into the coin holder hole. I went to the underhood fuse box and added a relay switch. I installed both fog lights, but on the first trial neither light lit up. I checked the fuse box and with the headlamps on and the fog light switch on I had power(signal to the relay) and my fog light switch lighted as well. I checked the fusebox and I had power (pos and neg ) for the fog lights. I used my mechanics stethescope and got my wife to turn the fog switch on and off, I could clearly hear it click so I knew power was going to the fog lamps. I took my Dremel tool with a fine file bit and I ran it over the tips of the wiring plug and down each side of the tip as far into the plug as I could get. I plugged the wire in and the lamp lit up, same with the opposite side. 22 years of hanging under the front of the car, dirt salt, oxidation and corrosion had to be cleaned up. Now I have working fog lights. The lights and switch were $38,two new bulbs were $28 and the relay was $13.99 at Canadian Tire. I have fully functioning fog lights for $80..and thats with brand new bulbs and a brand new relay. My next project is to wire the relay from a source other than the headlights, that way I can have fogs on without headlights...
