Anyone running drag springs on a newer Mustang 03/04? I need some advice please.
 

I am looking into the drag race springs for the front and the back. If I choose this route I will also switch to the Lakewood 50/50 Drag shocks for the rear.

I already have the sway bar off the front and am running the Lakewood 90/10 struts along with the skinnies. I also have Steeda Aluminium lower Control arms and HD uppers in the back. Do you think with the addition of the drag springs I would see gains?

I have a best of 1.64 on drag radials in the 60ft and at Grand Bend 2 weeks ago for the OSCA race I hit a 1.69 twice and than averaged low to mid 1.7's.
I am looking for gains and the manufactures claim a possible .4 tenths alone with the addition of springs in the 1/4 mile.

Here is description of the Steeda ones. Eibach makes them also so not sure what brand I would go yet.

Steeda's SuperLite Drag Race Springs use a longer front coil that stores more energy to lift the front of the car during launch, aiding body rotation to transfer more weight to the rear tires for increased traction. The right rear spring incorporates a progressive coil design that reduces the effect of axle torque, reducing body roll and helping the right rear tire stay planted to the ground during launch. The spring rates are tuned for improved traction at the strip, while maintaining good ride quality and acceptable handling on the street.
Any info with knowledge about this type of set up would be helpful. I am not looking to lower the car but read it would drop a bit as the springs are softer than the factory ones. This would be acceptable as long as I saw gains.

Can springs alone give me an improvement with what I have already done?

I don't mind spending the money but would like to know that they are gonna do somethig for me and the ole Macher and not throw away money that could be spent on something else to improve my times.

I use the eibach drag launch springs in my old setup and my new one. With a 50/50 drag shock and a 90/10 they do improve 60 ft times but they also make you car handle like ass. No more cornoring at all.


I am running koni adjustables in the rear so I can dial in the hardness I need. I will be running 90/10's inin the front.

I have been running my lakewood 90/10 and 50/50 shocks/struts and eibach drag launch springs with 1 coil cut on front and the car drives good. Didnt turn worth a with the pro stars but now with the bullits it actually handles real tight.

I have the setup for the 2nd season now with no problems and highly reccomend them.

Thanks, I just do not want to negate what I have. I think they will work but my set up is working also and not sure if it will help or hinder. My 60fts are 1.66 to 1.71's and that is with lifting the wheels.

yeah your 60 foots seem to be pretty good as is. I should have my car at the track by mid August and well see how it works.
