Ball joints on an 87 5L, replacable?

Reading my haynes manual, says ball joints on an 87 is not servicable and that you have to buy brand new control arms. Yet I've just ordered a set of moog ball joints for it from ford. WTF? Are they or not servicable?smack:

they are pressed in, and they have NO grease nipples, you have to get them pressed out and the new ones pressed in, but you dont need a new control arm

you can get a ball joint press from a local canadian tire.
see if you can get one that has grease nipples it'll make it last longer in the long run.

They are replaceabe as said, but I would only use Moog joints, you say you got them from the dealer? they usually don't sell Moog parts-just make sure it says Moog on them and they're greasable. I would pay a professional to do the job.

ford stopped making balljoints for my gen, so they sell moog instead.
