Changing Springs
 

Ive been looking at changing the springs to ford racing springs but by doing so should I change the stock struts and shocks?

You don't have to change the shocks - but I recommend that you do - better handling and the stock ones will wear out quickly. And since you'll have easy access to the shocks when swaping the springs - now is a good tme. If you're having someone install the springs - you'll save $$$ on the labour. Also - depending on how much you lower the stang - you might need upgraded caster/camber plates - but only if you're lowering it more then 1.5". You'll also need an alignment once the springs are installed. Hope this helps.

^Yeah, what he said it's a good idea, but not crucial, I lowered my '88 2 years ago, left the struts factory, no problems, rides a little rough though. Most people just do springs, be very careful if you're doing this yourself-it's not exactly easy.

i would only do it, if you have lots of KM's on your car.
if you only have 10,000 km on the car, then your shocks are pretty much new.

but that is just my thinking, :rolleyes:

I had a shop install new vogueland springs, lowering our 04 V6 convertible 1.6, we havent't changed any shocks and all seems to be okay. Along with our 20' wheels anf toyo low pro's it handles fine, only 10,000 km's though.

I just had Steeda springs installed, nothing else. Today I took the car in for a front end alignment and I am glad I did. The tow was out, mind you not by much :thumb1:
