Smile cold air intake

I put in a BBK cold air intake on my GT recently. I swear it makes the exhaust louder and there is more uumph there. I had no issues with having to reflash the computer set up and no pinging so far. On to the next!

Good first step. Most of the CAI's will give you 8 to 12 hp without a tune. The real gain is with a good tune, not just in power but the throttle response is vastly improved. Plus you will even pick up a little improvement in gas mileage. The noise may sound like exhaust but is the unstricted intake that gives you that effect when you get on it. It's a great sound.

One day I may get a cai but I am not in a hurry. I personally like the look of the carbon fibre units.

I agree, the carbon fiber is very nice. When I got mine it came with the plain black inlet tube. Drab looking. So I took the tube, the rad cover, the rad cover extensions, the fuse box cover, and the shaker engine cover and painted them all a black metalic with a fine metal flake clearcoat. I'm much happier now, but the carbon fiber is still nice....maybe another day.
