cross drilled rotors and pads for 05 GT
It's getting to be brake time and I'm thinking of cross drilled(maybe slotted) rotors and ceramic brakes. any suggestions. Mostly a daily driver but I like to wind it out on twisty roads.
Thanks Mike |
Hawk brake pads are great i love them on my gt highly recommend them.

It all depends on how much you really want to spend.. i screwed up hard with my stock brakes and let them go too long without replacing the pads, so on my driver's side the rotor was fu**ed ur bad. I went with a cobra Brake upgrade just for my fronts, and hawk HPS pads on the back. i love it. would have been better with a brembo kit but i didn't wanna spend 1k just on front brakes
Pads are a good start. just think of how much you use your brakes, and how hard. go from there |

Thanks Mike Slots are only there to shave the pads under high performance conditions (road racing etc...) when the pads have a tendency to glaze under extreme conditions. Cross drilled are really a step up from regular flat faced rotors. I had cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads on my 04 and what a difference. I am looking for a set of drilled only rotors currently for my 07 and I will be going with ceramic pads again eventhough they are more $$ because they really cut down on the brake dust. Whatever you choose post it up and let us know how you like it. |
thanks guys A couple winding roads around here. From Belle River to Chatham along the river is the best. Posted 80K most of the way but the OPP like it too. Quite a few tight turns and at 80 it's a good thrill.
