cross drilled rotors and pads for 05 GT
 

It's getting to be brake time and I'm thinking of cross drilled(maybe slotted) rotors and ceramic brakes. any suggestions. Mostly a daily driver but I like to wind it out on twisty roads.

Hawk brake pads are great i love them on my gt highly recommend them.

EBC brakes and rotors, very well recommended you can get them from one of our sponcers
or possibly Summit Racing thats were I got mine from.

I went with hawk hps pads, ss brake lines and wilwood exp600 brakefluid. Made a very noticable difference with highspeed/hard braking. They do make a fair bit of dust tho. That's definently one nice thing aboot ceramics.

It all depends on how much you really want to spend.. i screwed up hard with my stock brakes and let them go too long without replacing the pads, so on my driver's side the rotor was fu**ed ur bad. I went with a cobra Brake upgrade just for my fronts, and hawk HPS pads on the back. i love it. would have been better with a brembo kit but i didn't wanna spend 1k just on front brakes :LOL:

Pads are a good start. just think of how much you use your brakes, and how hard. go from there

Being an ex-Windsorite I have to ask-Where are the windy roads,kidding. The only problem with the slotted/drilled brakes is you need to build up heat in them in order for them to be effective. So I hear.:laughhard

If the car is a daily driver the slotted rotors will wear the pads faster than non slotted.

Slots are only there to shave the pads under high performance conditions (road racing etc...) when the pads have a tendency to glaze under extreme conditions.

Cross drilled are really a step up from regular flat faced rotors.
I had cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads on my 04 and what a difference.

I am looking for a set of drilled only rotors currently for my 07 and I will be going with ceramic pads again eventhough they are more $$ because they really cut down on the brake dust.

thanks guys A couple winding roads around here. From Belle River to Chatham along the river is the best. Posted 80K most of the way but the OPP like it too. Quite a few tight turns and at 80 it's a good thrill.

i just installed front and rear OEM size cross-drilled rotors (plated gold) with front and rear carbon fiber pads from KVR on my '07GT.
HUGE DIFFERENCE.
