Delete Back Seat
What do you guys think about removing the rear seat in your Mustang? Saw some-rear-seat-delete-kits on AM looks OK!:)

I'd like one of these but cant convince the wifey!

I guess it is up to the individual, but personally I don't understand the theory behind it.
If I want the 2 seater look,I just fold the rear down, instant memories of my corvette. That rarely happens because I love the look of those two dentist chair clones that are begging for grandchildren back there. If I was into big stereo's,or racing, maybe I would understand the purpose. Just my .02. |
I had a seat delete in my 95 GTS and it looked nice but I didn't care for it. It was really flimsy and my noisy fuel pump and dumped Mac exhaust got really loud.

Rear seat delete looks like you damaged your real seat and replaced it with plywood. UGLY. Looked good in the old fastbacks, but they folded down.

I did an aluminum rear seat delete. Turned out awesome.

I like the rear seat delete. If i didn't have kids, i would consider it. But it would be noisy with road noise, and exhaust noise like the 80's, and early 90's fox hatchbacks that were modified with aftermarket suspension, and aftermarket exhaust.

For as much as the backseat gets used in mine, it would'nt bother me, but I will likely leave it as is.

If you use the car for a daily driver and want the ride to be less noisy there is no reason for a rear seat delete. However, if the car is primarily a track/fun car why not? Personally, I just removed the rear seat bottoms, and might get rid of the backs soon. Noise? You don't even notice it with a helmet on at the track or solo events!
