Duals on an 05+ V6
Has anyone here done it? How did you solve the bumper issue with the stock one having the indent for the pipe? New bumper or did you modify your existing one to have the same indent on the other side?

I had a body shop cut out an opening on the left rear bumper. They simply traced the cut out on the right side and put the trace markings on the left. Cost me nothing. I have dual magnaflows on my V6.

Doesnt the stock side have like a rolled lip in the indent though, its not just cut out? Is there somewhere i can see pics of your rear?

Pictures of the rear end of the mustang are on the second to last row. If you need a close up I will do one tomorrow. There is no ident to worry about. |
Ya i tried to look at those pics but cant seem to zoom in enough to see what the actual bumper looks like. Close ups would be great if you have time. How much did ya spend? Magna Flows on my 01 cost me about 650. Thanks for the help

I also have magnaflows, cost me about $700 and about 2 hours to install.I made a cardboard pattern of the right side and with some carefull measuring marked the left side. you have to flip your cut out over to get the right angle, then used a air die cutter to remove plastic, leaving about a half inch of material in side the grease pencil line. Next use a heat gun to heat the half inch of material and roll the edge with a piece of pipe be carefull not to get the paint to hot that it gets tacky or burns. I would post pics but at my age I don't know where to start!!:tup

One of the guys there had suggested simply making a black type of insert for both sides so they match and thermal guard it. Another possibility. Thanks alot! |
I just recently got installed the Ford Racing Performace Exhaust and Air Intake, and I must say they were well worth the money. The package (along with the tuner of course), came to about $1050, and it's my honest opinion that if you have the money you should look into these. The sound on them is incredible.
As for the left side cut out, the kit comes with a cutout as well as covers that go onto both cutouts on the bumper. Here are a few pictures to help you out. If you'd like more just msg me and I'll take some shots. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96...StangPipes.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96...11-08_1725.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96...vStangBack.jpg |
I would love to see some daytime pictures more close up if you have any. Where did you get this installed? Everything in total was 1050?
