Exhaust Options

Hey all,

I'm shopping around for a different exhaust for my 08 GT Convertible. I'm seriously looking at the SLP Loudmouth Axle-Back but am unsure of the other "good" ones out there. I'm looking for a deep throaty sound at mid-high RPM's (I'm a rev head :chacha:) I got a couple recommendations about the SLP's but am looking for greater input. Anything under $500CAD would be helpful but I will stretch a little bit further if need be.

Nothing too complicated as far a installation goes, I'm doing it myself. :tup

SLP is a great system. I had it on my camaro. sounded great, and i havent personally heard any complaints on stangs either.
other option is to look into FRPP, borla, and flowmasters seem to be popular. the only one recently i've heard somplaints about is magnaflow. a fellow member on here doesn't seem to be happy with his (snakebite) but then again he's got an s/c'd 5.4L...
as for price.. i'm sure one of the s197 members will fill in on that :tup

Thanks, Any store you can recommend around Toronto? I've been looking through Steeda.ca and Americanmuscle.com for parts.

I was happy with the Flowmaster 40's on my 05gt. The Magnaflows seem a little quite at idle but not to to bad at speed on my 09 gt500. To me you can't go wrong with the 40's as I've had them on my 90gt, 99gt and 05gt. They seem to be the lowest in the pricing dept as well:tup

The SLP will be loud, especially on the '05 + stang with only like a half of foot of tailpipe.

Side pipes are AWESOME expecially if there are building for the sound to bounce off of..and most folk that hear me tell me that it takes them back to the 70s..

SLP's will give you the loud old school muscle sound. Sometimes to loud for some.

Borla will give you a nice deep sound but are known to drone.

Corsa - expensive and not as aggressive at idle as SLP's but under load roar (straight through design). The only muffler currently available that promises no drone that I know of.

After all my research I was down to those 3. I ended up going with Corsa's. But really with so many choices its personal preference. Good luck!
