Flowmaster 40's for Capri?
After talking with Snakebite, I'm considering putting a single flowmaster 40 on the cat (as part of the exhaust already is not stock). What yeh guys think?:wiggle:

I've had Flow 40's on a couple F150's and they sounded pretty good. I'll vote for them.

You can do a dual, just get the whole exhaust system as you can afford it,straight forward swap.
Shorty headers, mid pipe(h pipe),cat back, dumble hump cross member from the '86 to '93 models, and the supporting brackets, and rubbers from downer scrap 5.0L should bolt up. Sounds like a lot,but really isn't.My old '85 GT was a single to dual, and i just picked up everything to convert it to a true dual. That is what so awesome about the fox chassis, everything is swapable!:tup |

Well, the dual COULD work.. but because it's such a rare car... I'm not sure whether I would want to do that.
Keep all the stock stuff for down the road. The thing with the '86 newer style aftermarket exhaust is that it's designed to be put on in your driveway,no welding,no hacking, just a simple direct bolt on.The only issue with your stock exhaust,is the cat back,in order not to hack it,you can either drop the rear axle housing,or find some one who can do a clean straight cut after the stock muffler so you can get the tailpipe off. I would do the true dual conversion if it were my ride. The look of the dual stainless tips out the back look sweet on the foxes!! |

The beauty of it,it can all go back to stock without hacking.Bolt of all the stock ford hangers/rubber grommets, and double hump cross member, you are golden.:tup

Would I pay $14,000 for a capri or a 93 GT stock, 100% no. I mean, it would need to be flawless with like 12,000 KM on it, brand new. Once you mod out the muffler any serious collector will say its not original. I think do what you feel is right and will enjoy. For too long I actually played it as if I cared about selling it. Another reality right now is no one has money for Mustangs and toys. More people are worried about work than ever before, so, fetching top dollar may not be on the radar. I think go dual exhaust, do it on the cheap and enjoy the drone of 40 series mufflers :tup |
