To say that eBay changed the way car enthusiasts interact with the Internet is an understatement. eBay is one of the most heavily trafficked websites on the Internet, and the eBay Motors section of the Internet auction giant is responsible for more than $3.7 billion in annual sales. A lot of people get their parts and cars from eBay.

As it turns out, most of these people were into American muscle cars, as the top three most-sold cars on eBay in 2012 were all American muscle. And the top dog was none other than the Ford Mustang, beating out both the Camaro and Corvette as the most sold car on eBay in the past year.

More Mustangs were sold than any other vehicle on eBay Motors, followed by the Camaro, Corvette, with the Ford F-250 and F-150 rounding out the Top 5. This helped Ford become the #1 most-sold brand on eBay, followed again by Chevy and then Dodge. California, Texas, and Florida saw the most vehicle sales, being among the most populated states in the union.

But it wasn’t just cars that made big moves in 2012. Of the $3.7 billion in sales made on eBay Motors in the third quarter, only $2 billion was from vehicle sales. The rest came from sales of actual car parts, as well as memorabilia, accessories and souvenirs. The point? Cars are still big business in America, and the Mustang remains among the most popular cars on the entire Internet.

If that is new cars then that is great news for Ford and for Mustang.
If that is used cars then I would wonder why all those people would want to sell their one year old car.

The way I read it is that the Mustang is the best seller for the year of 2012 but probably all years. We have a leg up on the competition as not many cars have been around since 64.

^^ So true...The Mustang is the only actual "Muscle Car" to remain in production right from it's conception. Gotta be a reason for that, and a reason why the others weren't produced every year. :D
