Ford says I cannot do this for my new lights...

Am I in the right section ?

Hi,

I want to install HID lights on my 2007 gt coupe.

After I install them properly, when I start the car..the senses the lights taking less power that the stock lights and shuts the lights off. I know I can fix this with a bunch of relays but it will not work as well as the proper way to install them.

I took my car to ford today to shut off or disable this function and I am told that they cannot do it.

Is Ford being straight with me ?

Thanks

Sometimes there is too many electronics controlling what we do.

HID's actaually take more power to fire up. They only take less when the ballast is warmed up. Your problem may just be that the original wires cannot supply enough current to fire the ballasts. Try running a relay to the battery, and use the headlight switch to trigger the relay. This should solve the problem. If you need more help with this PM me.

That would also work. But you would lose your daytime running lights. You would have to remember to turn them on manually. Or rig the fogs to come on with the key.

I am now running the lights off the fuel pump. Works great except when I am running on high, both lights are on. This really isn''t an issue becuase with these lights, who need high ?

I also wasn't able to turn off the power to my blinkers for binkers only..I wantec to because I have blue cornering lights..

I hear the 010 is even harder to do anything..inclusing changing the rear mufflers.
