Found something funny on the '05 GT

While going over the car today, I noticed something funny within the trunk. It's the emergency release handle.

My interpretation:

Pull
Pop
Jump Out
Run like hell

Thats because if you are ever carjacked and locked in the trunk thats what you would do.

:laughhard Yea, cause carjackers always make an effort to take you out of the car, pop the trunk and stick you in it

Well if you think about it, the trunk has always been easy to open from the inside with the use of a flat head screwdriver or better yet a generic key.

not for kids under the age of 10

Once when working on my 84 GT Turbo (the hatch struts were shot) the hatch closed on me and my shirt got stuck so I couldn't get to the doors. I looked around to find a release like that and when I finally did I was so happy....it was night time and could hardly see a thing...I pulled it and got real sad when I heard the gas door release :laughhard

Ditto for me.....

Unfortunately someone always has to die to get these features introduced/developed as standard equipment.

Surprised it wasn't initiated sooner, by all manufacturers, when we all read about plenty of people dying in freezers, because the doors were left on them when they were discarded.

Good thinking Ford! :tup
