Gear question

In terms of gears, can someone explain to me why or how the 4.10 gears or any high gear gets off the line faster AND are there any risks using a high gear? shredding teeth, etc??

thanks all

physics, same as a bicycle in lower gear...its easier to spin up to power band faster...than say peddaling in high gear much harder off line but will pick up further down the line..

gears dont shred or do any different cause they are higher jsut make your car rev higher at same speed.....

i.e. 100 kms with 3:42 = 1800 r.p.m.
100 kms. with 4:10 = 2200 r.p.m.

strictly an example.....
