Usually a tuner will come will one or more dyno tested by the manufacturer tunes that will produce more power its not enough to plant you in the seat but you will notice some. Also they recommend high octane fuel.as for tuning it yourself ive played with that but seen minimal results if any it needs to be tuned by a professional. You will gain more power, better fuel economy and better throttle response. All tunes are not equal...most of our compettors just use pre-loaded tunes but we write our own tunes on the dyno and then program YOUR device for YOUR modifications

Expect around 10rwhp on a stock 2V.....We use the SCT Xcalibrator....the devices are very similar but it is the tunes that make the difference

NOVI VERT 01-07-2007 08:06 AM

In alberta, take it to Matt Mitchell at the Mustang Shop, for local dyno tuning.

im going to go with yes on this 1. im not 100 percent sure but i turned off my speed limiter and when i get the new xpipe i will turn off the o2 's. i know that with my diablo tuner there is a diagnostic section on it but i have no f"n clue how to work that 1 yet. lmao

The Mustang Shop is one of the only other qualified tuners in Canada...take it to Matt if you are in AB

Matt charges a $100/Per Hour at least last time i was talking too him. Depending on your application noting too extreme maybe 2 Hours, major modification might take a LITTLE LONGER. Dependings on how particualr you are with your tune and how exact you want it. Not sure if Matt is on this site maybe Meister can shed a little more light on this, seeing he knows a hell of alot more about this than me. Also alot of tuners are very particular of what mods you have i.e, injectors,Maf type of Chips etc.

gt98 01-20-2007 12:35 PM

so basiclly all i have to do is plug one of these hand held tuners in my ecu and it reprograms for me with out me changing anything..

also when i get one can someone on here help me out with it and show me how to set it up ashamed:

gt98 01-20-2007 03:44 PM

yea im planning to get the diablo

Mineral Grey Pony 01-20-2007 04:34 PM

Usually, it's best to let a pro do it for you! Go see Deigo at DaSilva racing. He did mine last summer.

If all your after is the generic tune that comes with the tuner 10-15 hp
you dont need to seek professional help its pretty simple when sitting in the car
below the dash by your right knee theres a code reader port just plug the diablo
in and follow the prompts like Tear said it holds your hand and walks you through it.

IMPORTANT: make sure ALL electical devices in the car are turned off (stereo, lights, etc.) close your doors and lock them my brother opened my car door on me and the track when i was modifying my tune between rounds and the diablo had a brain fart and my car wouldnt start i had to reinstall the factory tune
then start all over from scratch with my tune that i had (i never wright down what actually works that would be smart and easy) other than that any problems PM
or email me or tear alsorockon:

Simple combos typically take 2-2.5 hours, and more elaborate set ups, around 4 as long as there are no mechanical or wiring issues. I frequently encounter bad installs, wiring, and improper sensor location. I wont tune around these issues as some tuners do, and i will charge accordingly for my time to ensure the job is done properly.
I've trained with Jerry @ SCT and Greg Banish of seimans VDO. I have 10 years experience in the industry, and over 6 years calibrating Ford Vehicles.
I currently charge $100/hr.
