What year is the car? What style seats do you have?

If you unzip the bottom of the seat(tilt it forward to do so),then take a long flat head screwdriver, and slide it up in the inside, and you should be able to unclip the head rest this way to set it free to come out.Doesn't take much to unlock it.thumb:

It should work, there is somethings Ford never changed. If you look around at car shows, you can see that some guys use the older fox body halo head rest in the '99 plus,so i'm assuming that ford never changed there design on how the headrest lock. thumb:
And no prob's.

1 Go to your local demolition supply store.

2 Pick up a couple sticks of tnt.

3 Take them home, and go to your car.

4 Unzip one seat, and place the stick gently into the base of the back.

5 Light the fuse, and take cover.

Repeat steps 4-5 for the other seat, and presto, you have removed your headrests.

i had this problem too when i wanted to take off the seatbelt loop. just raise the headrest as high as it will go, on the front part of the steel there is a small groove, stick a long peice of wire (ie. coat hanger) and put it in the groove then push down on it hard while pulling up on the headrest. i did it myself but it may be a tinsy winsy bit easier if you got someone to help either lift the headrest, or push down on the wire. i believe thats the easiest and fastest way to take them out! btw i took it off on both my 97 and 04, only i kept the loops on the 04. only did it to see if it was the same procedure, and it was! thumb:
