Headlight restoration

Okay, so my headlights were looking pretty clouded and we got this new product at my work from Wynns that we might start selling and we had to demo it on a car, So I figured what the hell might as well give it a try! It took me maybe 20 minutes to do it and it made a HUGE differnce, I'd definately recommend this to any of you guys.

I took a before and after picture so you guys can see, I havnt driven at night yet, so I havnt seen the true benefit yet, but its definately a night and day appearance differnce between the two.

It's called Wynns Headlight Restoration, theres also one made by permatex I saw for sale at performance improvements named the same thing. I just got back from driving around as well, With my silverstars they look amazing. Definately way brighter than before.

Depending on condition of lights Baking Soda and a tooth brush does make quite a diffrence and its cheap.

Yeah those do look pretty good, I'm going to actually remove my lenses and re do them one more time, This time I just left them in the front end and did it that way.

The hardest part is sanding around the little nubbies that stick out of the light.

yeah, that was a pain, but well worth it

Hey josh what grit did you use?

StealthGT 10-15-2006 06:36 PM

Started with 600 then went to 800 then 1000 and 2000..all wet sand. The stuff that came off them was nasty yellow!!!!

94STANGR 10-16-2006 10:26 AM

Yeah the kit came with 1000 and 2500 all wet sanding steps so pretty much the same thing I guess, step 1 just looked like rubbing compound
