Headlights
Hey, bought a pair of tinted headlights for my '96 and have a problem. Because I did not check them as well as I should have they got water in them. Now the problem is that the water is gone and they left some rust inside and it looks horrible.
How can I take these apart and get rid of the rust? Just CLR the outa them? Any input is appreciated! Thanks.

To get the lenses off heat up your oven to 250*F and put in the oven and let them heat up so that the silicone gets soft an you will be able to pull them apart. I did this on my stock headlight a while back so that I could paint them. Don't worry you will not melt them. Once you have cleaned them up reheat them and put them back together and put a bead of sealant between the lens and body.

Lol snakebite.. Um yea Theres an extra little hole in the headlights for like.. A small light that you can add. Anyways, covering that small hole is a crappy peice of material that let the water in. Just not sure what to try and clean the light with. suggestions?
You name it I can cook it...lol
On the serious side though it works well and makes it easier to pull the lens from the backing. Then when you have everything cleaned up or painted as in my case you just add some sealant put the peices back together, let it heat up, remove and fully push the pieces together and they are resealed once you let them cool.
I swear it, dammit!!!

Okay for you guys who have been waiting, I cooked the crap out of my headlights and they will NOT budge! Not even a little! AM site says leave it for only 3 minutes, I let mine cook for 13. They did not do a single thing. I'm thinking I might just have to CLR it to hell.
