HELP!!! Electrical problem ?

ok soo my 05 mustang GT... i took out the stock shaker 1000 deck and i was installing a new car deck... i got the wring harness and everything i attached the wiring harness to the aftermarket decks wiring ... i did not tape them so i do not know if they were touching.. i connected the deck to see if it would work... the deck turned on and everything worked... i put my windows down and played around wid the deck for abit.. i turned off my car and unpluged the after market deck.. later that day i decided to show a friend of mine the car deck i got... i re-conected the harness (wires styll exposed) but this time they deck wouldn't turn on... all the wires were connected properly but the deck styll didn't turn on :banghead: to make matters worse.. my windows now dont go up  i know its not the deck cuz i see a little red light flashing on the deck and i know its gettin power... i even re connected the old stock deck and same problem its gettin power u can hear the cd changer but it wont turn on completely... i check all the fuses and replaced one under the hood .. a radio fuse... but that was no help

so the overall problem is... my car deck is not working properly and the windows do not go up... please any sort of help would be nice

^ I'd check all of the fuses with a test light first.

My son has the same problem with his 2000 GT. Two of the circuit breakers, under the hood, were blown so we changed them, and everything was great for a couple days, but then fuses started blowing. Does your car have power seats, because thats the only other thing on his that stopped working? I'm assuming it's a short somewhere, but I'm not good with electrical!:banghead:

Sounds like you might have blown a fuse if it's specifically those two things. This is why you shouldn't leave the wires exposed. There's an electrical code of conduct for a reason, and you could have damaged a lot more.
Also, I don't know what sound system you're using, but it could be drawing too much power, so even if you replace the fuse (if that's the problem), it could blow again very easily. I personally haven't swapped sound system on any car, but just giving some advice from my general electrical knowledge.

I had a killer stereo system back in 91 and had no electrical issues so hopefully that's not it.
