Hissing noise...shocks?

hey guys my 2004 V6 is making an annoying hissing sound as if ur pumping air...it makes the noise when i turn the steering wheel in any direction and also when i drive over speed bumps or bad roads. I pushed down onto the front passenger fender and it made the noise... i'm assuming its the shocks...normal wear from driving? At first i thought it had to do with the power steering unit...any ideas? i'm just thinking of taking it into the mustang shop (DaSilva's Racing) and having the guys check it out.
thanks

hmmm... I have something like that too on my '98 6er. Not really paying much attention to it tho. Doesn't seem to be affecting anything to cause to much concern for me.

is it just one shock or all? you could allways get a louder exhaust? lol

MyLiLPony Jun 7, 2007 05:39 AM

LOL ur such a joker! hmm louder exhaust. I already have Magnaflow GT magnapack H pipe exhaust sytem on my v6...but i can go louder haha but it only makes the noise on the right side...i'll end up replacing both struts. I also need to get summer tires geez smack: and the original stock GoodYear Eagle LS all season tires suck! They lasted long but the traction has always been horrible especially on wet roads. So gotta figure out which way to go on that. I have Michelin Alpin winter tires and they have been awesome...so might look at what they have to offer for summers?

ya thats just it you want tracktion you need a softer compound tire. the down side is your tires will wear really fast! I am running hercules g6000 and this is my second yaer with them and probably the last. if I know im gonna wanna give er I just lower the tire pressure a bit but for 140 bucks a tire they have been pretty good!

Sounds like a tight/partially siezed ball joint or tie rod end, take it in ASAP.
