How to get rid of DEAD WEIGHT?

What are the top 10 ways, say, of lightening my 86 GT? I know there's lot sof stuff i can replace with lighter-weight replacement parts, but that's not what i'm after. what i'm wondering is, what would you take out of the car (other than the interior, which is out) that i might not have thought of to lighten her up (while still keeping her street legal)? eg: air conditioning is an obvious one; what else is a "waste of space" if i wanna reduce the load? i'd love to have a list of these things, with the approx weight each one represents. thanks guysrockon:

dont pick up fat chicks either. heres a funny joke to go with the statement ( i hope some fat broad dosent read this and sue me ) a guy gets pulled over in his pick up by the rcmp. rc says "youve been pulled over under susspision of drunk driving " , guy says "why, is there a fat chick in the back? " smack:
take out anything usless, like alot of members have already said, spare tire , sound deadner ect. are you planning on raceing or just wana lighten it up ?

hey Tear U a new one:

this is a hobby car - will be on the street in good weather only, and will go to the track once or twice a summer to see what effect my mods have had/how i'm doing. no serious racing going to happen here.
i've actually taken out all those interior things - spare tire, jack, sound deadening. i've actually taken out all the seats (god those front seats weigh a god damn TON!!!!) gonna put in some plastic racing seats. what i'm really wondering is what can go under the hood, like A/C for example. is there anything else i don't need under there if she's not gonna be a daily driver?

thanks guys

Believe it or not I have heard of people going at there cars with a 3" Hole saw and taking out material that is "Not Needed"

Why would you wanna do a weight reduction? spend the money into your car and buy H/C/I and a power adder S/Cer/Turbo/NOS??

Find a local river. Back up to the river. Open your trunk. Throw the dead body in the river.

ah ok , well getting rid of the air pump , a/c , movin battery to trunk , takin out glass and putting in plexi glass to remove the weight of glass , fiberglass hood , fibeglass fenders. theres a load of stuff you can remove but if you make it too drag looking the cops might hassle you a wee bit

sounds like a lot of work if your not going to race it. What benefits are you going to get out of it except gas milage?

If your arms are the size of tree trunks then take out the power steering also.
