I need help with my 88 5.0
 
I was wondering if some fellow 5.0 fox body owners out there can give me a hand with something maybe someone else has experienced this too?, My 88 lx notch was running fine up until 2 days ago I took a quick cross town drive to a friends after installing a new starter and solinoid-starter relay and power wire to the battery i spent about an hour or 2 there then left to come home i got about 5 minutes away and my car felt like it was stalling out jerking and backfireing, no lights flickering so i pull over get out check no fluids leaking got back in and attempted to get back to my buddies house i managed to get half way and it felt like it was dying bad so i paked it in a parking lot called him to come take a look, at first he thought i was out of gas the guage reads 1/4 tank he knocks it sounds empty we go get gas put it in guage goes up start it same thing somehow manage to get it back to his place same issues on the way there. yesterday i buy a coil and a fuel filter runs a bit better while idling after playing with the distributor timing was set at 12 deg advanced we had to turn it back about and inch to idle smooth but you touch the gas it revs up but bogs out under load cant drive it because it jerks so bad today im going to buy a new distributo with a new tfi if this doesnt work im going for the fuel filter, he hooked up a voltmeter to the tfi wire it reads 12 v with the ignition on turn it off none in my chilton manual it says you should get power to it if the ignition is off i would like to know what you guys think? , i have been driving it for 4 months with no major issues, new motorcraft plugs gapped 0.44 new ford racing spark plug wires new oddyssey enersys battery, new power cable to the solinoid cleaned the end of the wire going to the starter before installing it, i am having the horn issue just replaced the relay atleast now i got my cruise and lighter back but it does not do me any good not being able to drive it, heads were done 3 years ago replaced with ford racing graphite head gaskets every nut and bolt was torqued and everything was triple checked no major issues until this
