Insurance

I pick up my roush trak pak Wednesday I want to insure it to full value. Vin shows it as a GT. Insurance agent cannot figure this out

Any one here insuring their car as a roush/saleen etc that doesn't show on vin

If so who are you using

I remember when i was about to purchase a '01 Bullitt,it had them same issue, they could only isure it as a GT?!?!
I wonder if the issue is because Roush uses the GT's,and they leave the vin as is?!

By the vin it would show as a GT. As far as I know Ford issues the vin not Roush.

The issue is nothing if in insure as a GT. Want to insure with the $$ value of roush. No one wants to insure it as it is modified. They can't get past the word modified and understand it is ford approved

Appraisal not issue. Insurance companies have the word modified as an evil word. Dont want to touch it. The "modified car" cannot be insured. That cannot get past. Modified. They cannot understand ford approves and warranties this car

The vin as is is the problem.. With the vin calling car a GT , they take the stance that mods are done aftermarket.

In Manitoba we insure for the value of the car, and I think it was the same in NB. Only after the value of the car is above $50K do you have to get appraisals in Manitoba anyways...

Should not be a problem I think, just show them the actual cost of the total vehicle, it will still show as a GT but will reflect the higher cost. It's like looking at a base car and a fully optioned car, insurance companies have to reflect the purchase price of the car.
