jack stands
This may be a stupid question. But is it a bad idea to put a car up on 4 jack stands?
I want to do it to rotate the tires with a lot less work and it seems like a good idea but the little voice in the back of my head is telling me to check on this. I'd be doing this on my IRS cobra and escape. :) |
it'l be fine as long as you make sure to put the stands under the frame in a solid spot :tup

Well I couldn't rotate the tires on the escape and didn't even bother to try on the car.
I need a new jack. The one I have now only goes up 15.5 inches at MAX and the jack stands are minimum 13.5.... Needless to say the travel in the suspension was enough to make this a useless exercise. I'm going to have to get a jack that goes higher, there's one at crappy tire that goes 21 inches but I'll wait for that to be on sale. I still can't find any decent secondary jack points under the car. There's only ONE spot to jack on all four corners. Am I an idiot or what!? |
