Lift bars??

So who's had trouble with liftbars? I had a pair of J&P knock-offs. They worked great for awhile, but then I started to hear cracking sounds when I pulled into my driveway. I removed them shortly after. Any comments???

Prolly cheap construction?? I've never heard of any problems with the DECH Grabbers, which is similar to a lift bar from what I've read.

I have southsides, and they creak, moan, groan, u name it... they suck for ANYTHING else BUT drag racing.

If I had to do it again I would go with a megabite jr or something similar.

Well frist off do u know what was making the cracking sounds?
I have seen lower and uper tork boxs crack and make noise as well as bolts bend that hold the arms in.
On my car i had the holes were lower arms bolt in tear and crack so i now have 1/8inch plates everywere and a good 10lbs of welds LOL.

If you want to run lift bars use lakewood lift bars they have poly bushings and wont kill your torque boxes. I have been useing them for 4 years no problem

Ummmmmm... no it's not due to cheap construction. It's due to them being a solid bushing and if you don't grease them from time to time they will creak and groan. Never had a problem with mine and the've been in there for 5 years with a lot of 1.4 60' in the mix

My lowers have solid bushings and my upers have polys.
I also run a spool with a big tire on there alot.
I have only had the probs of cracking creaking and groaning when the torkbox's have given up. Like i said b4 i have welded in plats and boxed everything to point i dont think anything else can go wrong back there.

My plates run inside the tork boxs and weld right to the frame so there going no were.

yup, like fearmont said, lift bars, especially Southsides or J&P's (because they are southside knockoffs) they will creek, groan, and clunk. But they hook nails.
