Light Bars
 

I'm thinking about adding a light bar to my convertible. What does everyone think? Is this a good idea or a Mustang no-no. I want to maintain the tough image a black convertible has, but the addon looks neat. Thoughts?

It's one of the upgrades on my wish list.

I think they look great, I had one on my 04 GT convertible and loved it.

Lots of guys get them and I agree they look really good, go for it!

Where did you get the parchment coloured light bar? That's just what I have been looking for. All the ones I have seen have been black, charcoal or carbon fiber.

it came with the car. I had a quick look on the AM site there is a pic of a white stang with the black bar.That would really set off quite well against the white IMHO.

I think they look awesome. I had one on my 2011 mustang and now I put one on my 2013 Shelby.

A question for those that have them and ride with the top up. Does the brake light come on when the roof is up?
BTW I think they are a great addition.

I think you have to wire a toggle switch in and shut it off when the top is up. I chose one without a light so I didn't have the hassle.

the brake light coming on isnt really a big issue,unless your on the back seat:wink:

No...the brake light doesn't come on when the roof is up.
Some sort of "switch" prevents that.

The light only comes on when the top is lowered. They provide great details on how to wire it during install.

got mine from cdc and installed by them. saved almost 500 not going with a shop in Canada.

I got a CDC bar a few years ago from the mustang shop in Calgary and their price was reasonable. I was really happy with the quality of the part as well.
