Long tube headers

I have a real question for the tech guru's and it does not involve cleaning, seriously. What are the best headers (brand) for the 05gt and with the Flowmaster 40 series will the headers make the car louder. As may answers as possible would be nicethumb:

the headers are definately going to change the sound of your exhaust im sure that it will be a little bit louder

Hands down, the best you can get will be a set of ceramic coated Kooks out of NY. Be prepared to spend over $700. And, yes they wil be louder with a pair of 40's.

We run that combo because we need them. If you are making less than 700 at the FW then you can likely get by with a cheaper brand and be very happy.

For changing the sound only, headers on a mod. motor are a very expensive proposition. Good quality ones are expensive, and then huge labour if you can't do the install yourself. My suggestion would be a complete exhaust behind the manifolds first, unless $$ is no object of course.

you still gotta drop the K-member on the 05+ like the 99-04?.....sounds like it

big labour on the 99-04....like 8 hours......and the 4.6 2V NA doesn't gain SFA.....not worth the money

I agree on Kook's headers.
Very nice Tig welds on them, very consistent.
StealthGT has a set of Kooks Stainless Steel Long tubes and there the nicest headers I have ever seen, but you will PAY.

There is a huge difference on sound as well. I have a set of Mac LT's and the sound is just awesome.

For a person as picky as you are, your going to want the Kooks for sure :)
Hope this helps.

KOOKS custom stainless headers FTW.

Thanks guys. My buddy with the 06gt says 1000.00 for the headers and he will install for free. I wish I was him sometimes as he does all his installs.thumb: I am just looking for pure sound as I drive it like a old geez.

He's pestering me constantly but I'm in the not 100% sure state of mind yet. We just spent 4800 on the TV. He wants me to do the headers and cold air with tune thing quick like. Eh we will see.wall:
