Looking for my dad's old 1970 Boss 302
Hello everyone, I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to be posting this, so I apologize in advance if it isn't!
Quick back-story: My father owned a 1970 Boss 302, originally Grabber Orange that he painted candy apple red. The car was amazing, with an immaculate white leather interior, and a BEAUTIFUL engine. Unfortunately he had to sell it around 1999 (putting me at 11 at the time), and I just recently started searching for it. I had read in the Vintage Mustang Forum in a post from 2002 that it was in Washington, so I headed over to the Boss302 exchange, put up a post, and was informed that in the 2011 registry it was located in Wetaskiwin, Alberta Canada. Just curious if I could get any further in my search here, and if anyone has any information or ideas, I'd love to hear! |

Awesome Ray, I'll do some searching over there, thanks for the tip!

If you had the VIN, couldn't you just run a search and find the current owner ? I realize you're in Cali, but here in Ontario, if you run the VIN at the Ministry of Transportation office, you can get a used vehicle information package that's supposed to track the history of all the owners of a car. If the vehicle is legally registered and plated to be on the road in Alberta, I would hope the Ministry of Transportation in Alberta would have that info. Clubs are only useful if the owner joins, but it's a good place to start because someone who is in the club might recognize it. Any pictures to help in the search ?

Yeah I do know that if the car is registered you could run the vin at the registry and they could locate it, but I'm not sure about if it's not registered?

The VIN number of the car is 0F02G123065, I can't believe I forgot to put that in my original post! I did look into ordering a VIR (Vehicle Information Report) from the A-Plus Registry, but I was saving that as a last resort. I also don't think it tells the names of the previous owners. And here are the few pictures I have available of the old girl! |
Beautiful car. Good luck with your search!!!
