Lower Ball Joints

Well I need to replace my lower front ball joints. My question is, what are some good companies to take into consideration....? I've also read you can replace the whole a-arm with one from a 03/04 Cobra for not much more. Anyone ever try this? Is there any other hardware that needs to be changed to do this.

My plans for the car is to keep it, I want beef up the suspension, and I'll work on the drivetrain in the future when I have some money to do it all properly. I figure for now I'll just put my money into making it feel and ride better.

Thanks,
-Sam.

I went with the 03 Cobra A-Arms. I started the install last night and got the front end down to the bare control arms. I need to figure out a way to loosen the bolts since my gun won't do it. It didn't take very long, plus I was working on other stuff at the same time. The hardest part was getting the bolts loose, I think my 97 Cobra has 100% original suspension.

I forgot to mention that my car is a '91. Will they still fit. Let me know how they feel. Mind if I ask how much you paid, curious the price difference from them to ones by MM.

I got them from Summit for $159 US for the pair. It might be another week before the car is back on the road, the engine is still half taken apart but slowly coming together. I'm not sure if they'll fit 91s, I can check something...

says 94-04...

Not sure what the Fox suspension looks like, never taken it apart.

They will bolt up to a '91, but will give you way too much negetive camber, which will not be able to be adjusted out, and will cause major inner tire wear. I would just get a couple of Moog ball joints, they have a lifetime warranty, and are greaseable, they're around $80-100 each. I'm assuming you know how to do this job and to be very careful when working with loaded coil springs.

Sounds good, thanks for the input.

My concern is that if I'm going to be spending $200 for new ball joints, why not spend another $150-200 to get all new arms from MM?

Why would you? Are your arms bent/broken? Also, new arms likely won't come with greasable joints and will carry no warranty, plus they're much harder to do than ball joints alone, good luck with whatever you choose.

Well I was more the less curious if it was worth just spending the extra.

Are the LCA's from MM not greasable?

So is this what I need? Anyone know who sells them cheaper?

Thanks! :4:
