lowering 2005 gT

I am thinking of lowering my car. Anybody drive a lowered on thru winter. i live in Windsor so the winters are not bad. the car has 19K on it. Should I do shock as well. I'm thinking Fords Pack 3 suspenision or Steeda.

ive lowered a few 05s. Eibach sportline makes it look awesome. do yourself the favor and if u do lower it dont get the steeda camber kits. pain in the ass to do an alignment with that kit. Stick with the eibach camber kit. Much easier to align with

I drove my lowered V6 in the winter, not sure what it had on it though... was like that when I bought it. In the heavier snowfalls I would pretty much be driving on top of the snow with it scraping underneeth. That car was pretty low though...

The Cobra is lowered but it will never see snow. I'm not suicidal.

I used Steeda on the 05gt. I however do not drive it in the winter. Good hunting in you future setup. :thumb1:

If you lower that car winter driving will surely be worse, not sure where you live but my area of Windsor sees quite a bit of snow, I'd never drive a 'stang in the snow 'round here, but I do agree the Eibach kit is the way to go, shocks and struts are not necessary, but be sure and get an alignment afterwards.

I actually had a blast driving my V6 in the snow. Get some Blizzaks on there and with the posi rear end I was having a ball. Was much better than driving a FWD Beetle TDI, even if it was lowered.

Glad to hear it man, guess it depends where you drive, I've pushed out countless Mustangs, pickups, Crown Vics etc.....I've driven many rwd cars in the snow and would never choose one over my pile, I've been driving an '88 Tempest for the past 5 years, only been stuck twice-both times it was my own fault too-having too much fun in the snow.

Thanks guys.

I've been driving Rear wheel drive for years and haven't been stuck yet however I did drive my 00 GT sideways in ruts one morning on the way to work. We don'r get that much snow down here but when we do it can bind us up. the 05 is better yet in the snow and great fun if there's no bozo's around. turn off the traction control and its a different story. donuts only anyone. I'll have to think more on lowering the 05 as my wife sometimes drives it. I have a white 05 GT with blue lemans stripes and side scoops on the fenders. Stop and say hi if you see me. I try to go to Rona Thursday nights for the roll in..

see ya
Mike
